The Ramaiah Medical College (RMC) was established in 1979 with the vision of providing quality education to all. The College is a Constituent College of Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) from the academic year 2022-23 onwards and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
At RMC, we strive to nurture a well-rounded professional. Here, our focus is on building doctors with a strong, comprehensive foundation of medical knowledge. Our students learn through rigorous academics and a balanced focus on extra-curricular activities. They learn to practice in well-equipped hospital as well as in the rural and urban field practice areas. They learn to make decisions independently and when to collaborate with a fellow student of nursing, physiotherapy or pharmacy.
This focus on holistic development extends to co-curricular activities, as we support students to initiate, organise and participate in them. We believe a Medical Leader needs skills that go beyond treatment and cure.

Ramaiah Memorial Hospital (RMH), a premier multi-specialty hospital, is a sister institute and the primary clinical counterpart of Ramaiah Medical College, providing students with invaluable hands-on training across a vast spectrum of medical disciplines. The campus also features the Ramaiah Institute of Oncology (RIO), a dedicated comprehensive cancer centre. RIO provides integrated, organ-focused cancer care, bringing together Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology under one roof. This multidisciplinary approach is supported by cutting-edge technology, including advanced robotic surgery for minimally invasive procedures and a sophisticated Department of Nuclear Medicine for high-precision PET-CT diagnostics and therapies. At the heart of its diagnostic capability is a state-of-the-art onco-lab, facilitating rapid pathological and molecular profiling to guide personalized treatment.
A key pillar of this institute is the advanced Centre for Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation (CHBMT), a hub where the revolutionary cellular therapies forming the core of this symposium are actively and skillfully performed. The centre works in close conjunction with the dedicated Ramaiah Stem Cell Facility, which provides state-of-the-art processing and cryopreservation services for stem cell products, ensuring the highest quality standards for transplantation and therapy.
The Ramaiah Group of Institutions was founded by our Founder Chairman, Late Sri. M S Ramaiah. The group is now guided by his son, Dr. M.R. Jayaram, who serves as the Chairman of the Gokula Education Foundation and Chancellor of the university. A visionary educationist and philanthropist, he has expanded his father’s legacy, overseeing the growth of the institutions and the creation of a world-class super-specialty hospital.
